THE PUKEKO SWIMMING SPORTS
By Logan Holland
On Monday 27 February, everyone was excited because it was the Pukeko team swimming sports, which we did at school.
First we got into our groups to race and then we hopped into the pool to swim a widths and then lengths of the pool. We used the clappers to start each race.
After you had done one race, you got a first, second or third and then you had to tell Mrs O’B what place you had got.
Then you had to do another race and you had to do your best swimming. Some of the things that we did were underwater race, dolphin dive, kicking with a board and lying on your back and kicking with a board. Some people did length races too.
Then, when you had been in two races, you had to go and get dressed in your clothes and watch more races. After that, there was a choice to have a free swim.
It was a very fun day doing swimming sports. I think the best part was when everyone got a chance to swim. We had a great time doing it and everyone wants another swimming sports.
