On Friday 18 June RM 3 and RM 8 got together to celebrate Matariki, the start of the Maori New Year. Firstly RM 3 which later would be out onto wood using thread. Then our buddy class RM 8 chose which pattern they liked most to be put onto the wood. Then after morning tea we went back to our buddy class and started to thread it onto the wood. After we had finished we ate Kumara. There were Kumara fries, potatoes, and orange and yellow Kumara.
This was the ideal way to celebrate Matariki.
