Outstanding Athletics Success!

West Melton School students achieved extraordinary success at the Canterbury Athletics Championships!

Kacie A, Annabel V, Grace M and Ella B were placed 1^st in Canterbury in the 11 year old girls 100 metre relay.

Kacie A was also placed 1^st in Canterbury in the 11 year old girls 60 metre sprint.

Sam C was placed 2^nd in the 11 year old boys high jump.

Jack R was placed 3^rd in the 13+ boys discus.

Pukeko Puppetry

The Pukeko team celebrated their learning about puppets with a trip to The Groynes to perform their puppet plays,

then a visit from puppeteer Juliet Neil and her Peter Rabbit puppet show.

Kiwi Team Picnic

The Kiwi Team celebrated their year of learning with a lovely picnic in the Botanic Gardens.

Will the real Saint Nick please stand up?

West Melton School's production The Real Saint Nick was an outstanding success, with every child in the school involved on stage or backstage. The children made the backdrops, found the props, organised sound effects, played the keyboard, sang, danced and acted!

Thank you all for your amazing support of West Melton Wonderland! We has a fantastic day, with beautiful West Melton weather and lots of fun had by all!

Artistic Endeavours Rewarded

We had a very special presentation in this week's assembly, as Janice from the Lions Club awarded Samuel K 1st place in the Lions Peace Poster Contest for our district. Janice remarked on the very high standard of the 28 entries from West Melton School. Well done to our budding artists and their mentor Mrs Busch.
Samuel's artwork now heads to Wellington, and then hopefully to America to be judged in the international competition.

Assembly Highlights Term 4 Week 6

We were treated to a very entertaining assembly, run by the Kiwi team of Year One and Two students. The children were great announcers and scared our socks off with their roaring in The Dinosaur Stomp!

Emily S and Jack P received Gold Mathletics certificates, while Kohbyn R is the Mathlete of the Week!

After a huge amount of work and homework challenge studies involving mouldy cheese, water and Lego, Josh D, Angus H and Katherine H received their Science Certificates, while Charlotte D received her Maths Badge. Josh, Angus, Katherine and Charlotte, you are great thinkers and self-believers!
