Recently some of our West Melton students participated at the
King of the Bowl Motocross series.
They all raced in the 7 - 12yrs trail bike class and had a blast over the 5 round series.
It is on a track in Darfield, run by the Canterbury Mini Motocross Club Inc.
You can check them out non facebook if interested.

Dragon's Den

Dragon's Den

As part of their 'Enterprise Study', the Year 7 & 8 students had to present their product to a stakeholder.

Each student was arranged into companies to make a product. This was a product that could be sold at a fete or gala.  They had to convince the stakeholder, aka Mrs Ward, that their product was good enough to sell.

Each company had to explain their product, what the product was made of, how much it would cost, how much profit was going to be made, how they would advertise, and was it right for the genre group, the students of West Melton School.

It was interesting for fellow classmates, to see what needed to be tweeked, changed or even making sure that everyone in the company had a role to do.

Thank you Mrs Ward for coming in and giving us constructive advise.

Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day

Friday 22nd May 2015

It was a phenomenal psychedelic perfect pink day.
So many variations of pink were worn; blush, fuchsia, rose and coral to name a few.
Pink Shirt Day is a stand against bullying and fostering positive relationships within our school.
It encourages our students to talk about bullying and take action against it.

Thank you to our superb Student Exec who organised the event.

Speak up.
Stand together.
Stop bullying.
