National Young Leaders Day 2015
On the 12th May 2015, our two Head Girls, Whanau Coordinator, and the Whanau Leaders were
accompanied by Mrs V and Ms Riley to the NYLD 15 (National Young Leaders Day
2015). It is a day for young leaders, so many Year 7 and 8 students went from
lots of schools across the South Island.
There
is more than one NYLD day, and the Parenting Place sponsors NYLD. They travel all
the way down the country, some of the places they visit are Wellington,
Auckland, Rotorua, and Dunedin. NYLD has been going strong for 15 years. A couple of people who spoke were Jamie McDell (professional singer), Steven
Gurney (nine time Coast to Coast champion), and Chris Jupp (World Vision).
For me personally I thought it was a great, inspirational. All the speakers were very interesting, I think that most other young people like myself and others around me, will take what they learnt from the experience with them and then quite possibly change the world!
