Bird Survey at Kowhai Sanctuary
Bird Survey at Kowhai Sanctuary
Tuesday 30th June 2015
As part of being an Enviroschool, some of our Enviro team were lucky enough to participate in a bird survey conducted at the Kowhai Sanctuary. This is part of the New Zealand Aotearoa Garden Bird Survey.
The student had to observe birds that come into the sanctuary for one hour. They had to record the highest number of each species seen at one time. The results are then submitted online to the garden bird survey at Land Care Research.
We wish to thank Matt Stanford from Enviroschools who helped co-ordinate the survey for the West Melton bird monitoring group.
