The Littlest are Litterless!!

The Littlest are Litterless!!

Last term, the New Entrant and Year 1 students in the Yellow, Red and Blue Homebases conducted an experiment.  They collected all of their rubbish in a bin to see how much litter was produced from their lunchboxes in one day.  They were very surprised to see how much there was.

So, along with their parents' support, they have been working hard to reduce the amount of litter by bringing 'Litterless Lunchboxes' to school.  This is one way of making a positive difference and helping to create a cleaner school environment for everyone to enjoy.  The switch is simple - reusable containers and bags are used, to replace Gladwrap, foil and plastic wrappers.

The next step is to spread the word to the rest of the school, and encourage others to make a positive difference too.  Over the next few weeks, the students will be preparing presentations to share their message to other students at school.  They will also be learning about how food waste can be reduced with our on-site worm farms.

If everyone makes a small change, a huge difference can be made.
