The Eco Warriors - Worm Farms

The Eco Warriors - Worm Farms

A group of the West Melton School, Eco warriors look after the worm farms. They also look after a small garden at the worm farms too.
The Eco warriors enjoy planting and looking after many different types of plants.

Above is a picture of the ‘Bulb Forest’. Next to the bulbs is the small plant nursery. We like to find plants that are not doing very well and help them grow properly by standing them up and making sure they have enough sun and water. We have made an irrigation system that helps us water the plants too.

The Eco Warriors look after the three worm farms and are hoping to get a new one soon. In the worm farms we feed them old food scraps, paper towels, tea and coffee. The worms are not allowed to eat citrus (orange peels). You are also not allowed to touch the worms because it burns their skin.

We hope you have learned lots about worms and think about environment too.
Thank you, the Eco Warriors.
